CPR workshop
As a GP you could be called upon at any time, in any situation, to provide medical assistance including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you’re enrolled in the RACGP QI&CPD program undertaking the CPR course during each triennium is also compulsory.
The CPR workshops at GP19 focus on the steps required to perform basic CPR, including assessing the situation, airway management, rescue breathing, chest compressions and compression ventilation ratio.
During the session, participants will learn the theory behind CPR while practising techniques in hands-on case scenarios. This course is based on the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and is delivered by highly trained intensive care paramedics with current and valid CPR trainer certificates that comply with Australian Resuscitation Council policies. CPR 123 personal learning kits will be used during the workshop which participants take home enabling them to practise and reinforce the lifesaving skill of CPR beyond the session.
