RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health will host education sessions in the GP19 program that are tailored to those who work in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Find out more below.


Practical solutions: Getting culturally responsive primary healthcare




Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients achieve positive health outcomes. Built around engagement and the elements of a quality health assessment (715 health check) and follow up. This session will provide practical advice and involve patient perspective and participation.

Palliative care: A cultural approach




This is an interactive 90-minute session that will focus on culture centred palliative care, with the presenters drawing on the NT Aboriginal Palliative Care Model to discuss the links between an Aboriginal patient, their family and the palliative care service providers.

This session will also provide participants with some practical skills and knowledge utilising the companion guide to the palliative care model and insight into the Groote Eylandt community approach to care planning.
